Are more shutdowns coming, and are you ready?

by Dan Pankratz · Nov 9, 2020

Are more shutdowns coming, and are you ready?

A new President for 2021 was announced over the weekend. The first few articles I have read were focused on the novel Corona Virus. Stating more control from the Government to mandate mask and public gathering are possible. Internationally, shutdowns in France and Germany were announced in the past weeks. In the U.S,  El Paso Texas and New Jersey’s Newark are shutting down as well. And here in California, the state website is showing more counties increasing in number. Will a shutdown for your town or city be next?

Even if there is not another shutdown, more customers will be shopping online this holiday season.

A new survey predicts shoppers will visit fewer stores than ever this holiday season.

Consumers are planning to visit just 5.2 retail stores on average. That’s down from seven last year, 6.9 in 2018 and 5.7 in 2017. It marks a record low for the survey, which polled 4,012 consumers from Sept. 9 to Sept. 15.

Part of the reason for the drop-off is because safety remains top of mind for consumers, said Rod Sides, a vice chairman of retail and distribution at Deloitte. The survey found that 51% of people are anxious about going to stores this holiday season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

What can you do to make sure your customers shop with you ?

Fewer customers will be shopping in stores this holiday season. So it is more important than ever to have your website set up for shopping. The task of uploading your stores inventory before the holidays may seem unattainable. And the thought of setting up a pick, pack, and ship warehouse in your back room  and dealing with customers wanting to know where their package is could make your hair turn grey or fall out.

No need to worry there are solutions!
